If you have larger birds using the roosting bar, you may want to add an extra wire mesh panel next to the roosting bar. There is a small gap between the tarp tie down rod and the base wire mesh. The extra wire mesh panel shown above the perimeter base insures that predators such as racoons, can not reach up through that gap and grab at roosting chickens.
This include the extra hardware for 2 grab shields, one on each side. The top rail for the shield uses 1/2" EMT tubing with wire mesh and SS zip ties.
